My acrylic work draws from a rich tapestry of influences—from the bold simplifications of Lawren Harris and the expressive movement of Tom Thomson, to the luminous urban scenes of Jed Dorsey and the dreamlike narratives of Marc Chagall. Whether painting landscapes, florals, animals, or everyday objects, I explore the interplay of light, colour, and form to distill each subject to its essence. Working intuitively as well as from inspiration, I use contrasts in value, harmonious colour relationships, and varied perspectives to evoke emotion—be it the stillness of a pine tree, the vibrance of spring blooms, or the quiet humanity of a wild creature. My acrylics are at once personal expressions and invitations for viewers to find their own stories within them.
Mountains (Sold)— Inspired by the work of Lawren Harris, a leading figure of the Group of Seven, whose uniquely Canadian landscapes have been a profound influence on me. I especially admire his transition toward abstraction through the simplification of form. In this small 3 x 5–inch canvas, I aimed to capture that essence—distilling the mountain’s presence into its most essential shapes and colours.
Spring Flowers - The palest daffodil at the foreground symbolizes a feeling of nostalgia and alienation, quite like the Vincent van Gogh's work of Irises where the white iris among blue irises symbolizes loneliness. Acrylic on Bristol Paper, 20 x 26 inches
Hummingbird in two phases - My blue pot more than the red geraniums attracts the hummingbird/pollinator. They come to my balcony and sip nectar, pollen adheres to their beaks and feathers which they then transfer to other flowers, facilitating plant reproduction.
Hummingbird - Framed Acrylic on Canvas, 15 x 12 x 1.75 inches
Red Apples (Sold) - A basket brimming with bold red apples against a fresh green backdrop—this joyful still life celebrates colour, simplicity, and the sweetness of everyday abundance. Acrylic on Paper, 6 x 8 inches
Apple Tree (Sold) - Acrylic on Canvas, 11 x 8.5 inches
Floral and Geometrical Abstracts These works emerged spontaneously, driven by a desire to explore the interplay of shape and colour. I was particularly drawn to analogous color schemes, finding joy in the way light transforms them—warm light enhancing the warmth of the palette, cooler light revealing subtler, cooler tones. By contrasting light and dark values, I created depth, form, and focal points that guide the viewer’s eye through each composition. Acrylic on Bristol Paper, 12.5 x 9 inches

Totem Poles - Contemporary works carry deep cultural significance to the Native Canadians. I am just observing their style. To me, totem poles embody a sense of being grounded, connected to nature, and steadfast in protecting cultural identity. I chose a grayscale palette as a metaphor for sorrow—a quiet expression how deeply sorry I am for what happened to them. Acrylic on Bristol Paper, 12 x 9 inches
Indigenous Art - The most important aspect of Indigenous art for me is the story it tells. Learning about First Nations’ expressions rooted in the cultural heritage reflecting their connection to the lad, spirituality and history resonates with me. Acrylic on Bristol Paper, 12 x 9 inches
Coffee Cup - This diptych presents the same coffee cup from slightly different perspectives—one white cup on a white background, the other white on black (sold). Painted in acrylic on paper (6 x 8 inches each), the paired images play with contrast and perception. Together, they feel like a quiet invitation to share that first cup of coffee with a friend.
Coffe Cup (white on white available) - Acrylic on Paper, 6 x 8 inches
Inspired by Paul Klee. Created with only primary colours and a large, flat brush. Acrylic on Paper, 6 x 6 inch
Bear (Sold) - A sturdy bear strides forward, its form defined by bold, textured brushstrokes in deep blacks and earthy grays. The simplified palette and strong contrasts emphasize the bear’s mass and presence, evoking the quiet dignity and resilience of wildlife in its natural realm. Acrylic on Paper, 6 x 8 inch
Mighty Moose - Acrylic on Canvas 9 x 12 x 0.75 inches. This expressive acrylic painting portrays a moose with bold brushwork and earthy tones set against a soft pink background. The contrast between the animal’s strength and the gentle color field adds a playful, contemporary twist to traditional wildlife portraiture. The work captures both the majesty and quiet presence of this iconic creature.
Inspired by Marc Chagall. Dream-like reality of this modernist painter’s work made a long-lasting impression on me. I tried to interpret his beautiful Church in Winter for fun. See it for yourself and decide if it makes you tick. Acrylics on Paper, 10 x 8 inches.
Still Life - Acrylic on Bristol Paper 12 x 12 inches. This still life composition captures the quiet beauty of natural forms with delicate attention to texture and color. A large green leaf, a ginkgo leaf, and a vivid red seed pod are carefully arranged against a light background, accompanied by a subtle horizontal branch form above. The work highlights organic detail and contrast, inviting a calm appreciation of nature’s small elements through a painterly, observational approach.
Original view for the previous painting.
Pine Tree - This small 8 x 6–inch painting is inspired by Tom Thomson’s simplified tree on the shore of Algonquin Lake. His distinctly Canadian style—capturing the raw, wild beauty of nature—brings me a sense of calm, even though his work is often defined by expressive brushstrokes, vibrant colours, and a dynamic sense of movement. My painting is a quiet nod to that spirit, leaving it to you to decide what a simple capture of nature stirs within you.
Autumn Tree (Sold) - Acrylic on Canvas, 11 x 8.5 inches

Acorns, Acrylic on Canvas, 15 x 12x1.75 inches (framed) This piece captures the gentle transition of the seasons, when summer’s fullness gives way to autumn’s quiet joy. Against a soft blue sky, a cluster of oak leaves and ripening acorns hang gracefully from a branch, celebrating the earth’s natural cycles. Painted with textured acrylic strokes, the artwork carries both vibrancy and calm, evoking the crisp air and golden light of autumn days. It serves as a reminder of nature’s resilience and beauty, and of the simple wonders that accompany each turn of the seasons.
Plums on a Summer Branch, Acrylic on Canvas, 10 x 10 x 1.5 inches This vibrant still life captures a cluster of ripe blue plums illuminated against a radiant yellow background. The complementary contrast between the cool indigo hues of the fruit and the warm golden tones evokes the joy and abundance of late summer. Expressive brushwork and attention to the interplay of light on the smooth plum surfaces bring a sense of vitality and freshness. The piece celebrates the simple beauty of nature’s harvest, inviting viewers to pause and appreciate the colour, texture, and serenity found in everyday moments.
